At first, the young Paula Brooks was a superheroine named Tigress who fought both Nazis and criminals alongside the Young All-Stars. During a battle with Axis Amerika, she was attacked and seemingly killed by the Valkyrie Gudra. After she was revived, she displayed a much darker personality. By 1947, she became the villainess named Huntress. Years later, she married Lawrence "Crusher" Crock (the villain named Sportsmaster) and they had a daughter named Artemis (later the villainess named Tigress).
