Benito Santini rose through years of training and experience as a covert operative to become the Director of Operations for John Lynch's Black Razors unit. Santini oversaw Project: ENTRY, which became a turning point for Ben as his whole team, save three members, were killed, and it was due to sabotage on the part of his nemesis, Ivana Baiul, who worked for U.S. Government. This led Santini to create Team Achilles without the approval of the UN Special Security Council, circumventing the veto power of the U.S. representative and supervisory control by a panel of billionaires. Though he initially wanted the team to consist only of human members in the field, he did add SPB ally members eventually to even the playing ground for his team.
