Shi

  • Also known as Ana Ishikawa

Born to a Japanese warrior and an American missionary, Ana Ishikawa watched a member of the Yakuza kill her brother and father when she was just a young child. She vowed to get revenge, and thus studied in the ways of the Sohei (Japanese Warrior Monks), with her grandfather in order to become a deadly assassin. She becomes a master of all weapons, but those she uses most are a naginata and katana blades. She paints her face white, and uses the name and symbol "shi" as her name, which means "death" in Japanese. Over the course of her quest, Shi struggles between her desire to avenge the deaths of her family members and the Catholic upbringing her mother had instilled in her, as well as trials with others including her old friend, Tomoe Gozan, who is a member of a rival Sohei clan.
