Superman XVIII died in the second half of the 30th century bringing his arch-enemy, Luthor, to justice. Several years later, in the year 2999, his son became the new Superman. The first major threat that Superman XIX faced was an invasion of Earth by the villain Muto, who used his mental powers to take control of the entire planet's robots.
