Blok is a silicon-based being from the planet Dryad. When carbon-based beings came to Dryad, they were unaware of the silicon-based beings' presence. The silicon-based natives watched the carbon humanoids and once determining them as non-threatening, revealed themselves. The two types of life-forms lived in harmony until Dryad's core became unstable in the 30th century and was destroyed. The silicon beings misinterpreted the Legion of Super-Heroes' rescue attempt as what caused the destruction of their planet, and they swore revenge. Blok joins the League of Super-Assassins, and finally realizing the error in his vengeance, he joins the Legion of Super-Heroes.
