  • Also known as

As an archeologist, Lara Croft travels all over the world looking for historic (and mystical) artifacts before they fall into the wrong hands. Her reputation grants the nickname "The Tomb Raider." Lara was born February 14, 1968 in a privileged environment, the only child of Lord Henshingly and Lady Croft in Wimbledon, London, England. She was home schooled until age 11, then attended Wimbledon Private School until 16, then Gordonstoun, a prestigious boarding school. There she got an interest in rock climbing and archeology. At 18, Lara went to another school in Switzerland, and she was arranged to be married to the Earl of Farrington, but that fell through, and after graduating, she traveled. During these travels she picked the life of an adventurer/archeologist over the high society life she had been born into. In EVO (Top Cow, 2003 series) #1, Witchblade Bearer, Sara Pezzini, is incapacitated while using the Witchblade against a machine created by enemy, Weave, and in order to save her life and defeat the enemy, the Witchblade bonds with Lara Croft. Lara as the Witchblade Bearer destroys the machine, but it lets off a discharge of energy, killing Lara in the process. Lara is later brought back to life by Nehebkau, guardian of the underworld.
