Nathaniel Essex

Mr. Sinister is the supervillain persona of Nathaniel Essex, a character from the X-Men related stories of the Marvel Universe. Essex was genetically altered by Apocalypse and then further experimented on in later series to become a Mutant Chimera made from Thunderbird's DNA. One of the world's topmost geneticists as Nathaniel Essex with a PhD from Oxford, Mr. Sinister continued his scientific research with a focus on mutant-supremacy, significantly impacting mutant-kind with his research and creations. He used his past helping Gambit as leverage to force him to recruit a team of mutants to serve him as the Marauders, a fearsome team of mercenaries he founded and ran. He also founded and ran the Nasty Boys, founded and lead the Hellions, lead the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, was involved with the Weapon X Project, and numerous other agencies and projects, the lion share of which had adversarial or villainous intent. Currently, Mr. Sinister serves on the Quiet Council of Krakoa.
