Selena Lauren is a Witchblade Bearer from the future: the year, 2100... a future with no aging, no disease, and no crime. She used to be a government operative adept at tracking serial killers. Her work drove her mad, and she disappeared for six months. She was next seen in amateur sex videos and then soon after she was arrested for supplying narcotic therapy to men. After escaping from jail, she was called in by Detective John Chimu at the NYPD as an expert consultant on a rare double homicide. She used the Witchblade in her research on the case in exchange for immunity. Chimu and Selena discover that the criminals committing these crimes were test subjects for the anti-aging drug. Though Chimu and Selena get close during her time as consultant, it doesn't keep him from going crazy working on the case, and he ends up killing both the murderer and himself. Selena becomes a detective again and continues to use the Witchblade to aid in her case solving.
