In the Zenescope Entertainment comics universe, specifically in the tale of 'Rumpelstiltskin', the prince is the son had by the king and the mistress Miller once she becomes Queen. The mistress Miller doesn't want to give up the prince as a baby to Rumpelstiltskin, so she tries to guess his name, which saves the boy temporarily. When Rumpelstiltskin returns, the prince is 13-years-old, and it is at that point that Rumpelstiltskin reveals his true plan, turning the prince into a misshapen dwarf, and himself back into a prince.
