John Greycrow

Marvel

  • Also known as Greycrow

John Greycrow was a Native American (tribe unrevealed) who was taught from a young age by his father to use guns. During World War II, Greycrow fought with the United States of America, but he was put to death by firing squad for killing his fellow officers. Due to his regenerative powers he survived the firing squad and went on to do solo mercenary work. While working in a diner in Millstone, Arizona, Gambit recruited him to join the Marauders. While a member of the Marauders, Greycrow has died and been cloned a number of times. After M-Day, Greycrow was one of the few mutants who kept his powers, and he was living on the lawn of the Xavier Institute, where he was recruited by Apocalypse to his cause. He joined up with the 198 and became romantically involved with Arclight, who had been a teammate of his in both groups. He rejoined the Marauders in order to lay claim to Hope Summers as the Mutant Messiah, but shortly after that event he left the group and was additionally converted to Christianity by Nightcrawler. Weapon Plus brought Greycrow into Utopia where he joined the X-Men after delivering new versions of Predator X to fight them. He warned the X-Men about the monsters he had brought, and he helped them defeat the monsters, so they took him in and trusted him. Greycrow fought with the X-Men during Second Coming and Age of X. Magneto later tracks Greycrow down and severs his arms and legs, but he returns to Magneto, limbs restored, and becomes a pawn of his along with other Marauders. Most recently, Greycrow has become a member of the Hellions team run by Mr. Sinister.
