**Pre-Zero Hour realities:** Charles "Chuck" Taine of 30th century Earth gained the ability to inflate his body like a rubbery ball after accidentally drinking an experimental super plastic fluid. As a teen, he adopted the codename Bouncing Boy and applied for membership in the Legion of Super-Heroes; he was initially rejected but later succeeded in joining the team. Chuck later married Luornu Durgo (Duo Damsel).
