On the planet Colu, a scientist named Vril Dox surgically upgraded his mental acuity to unknown levels. He left his homeworld and created robot drones, who searched out worlds for Vril Dox to assess. He would steal the knowledge of various alien cultures, and then shrink and bottle cities from each planet as a sample. Father of Vril Dox II (Brainiac 2) of L.E.G.I.O.N.. Grandfather of Lyrl Dox (Brainiac 3). Ancestor of Querl Dox (Brainiac 5) of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
