Joshua Xan was a rebellious teen when he was bitten by alien parasites and given mutant powers during the Bloodlines event. He was able to fire energy bolts from his hands and could fly. He used the alias Mongrel and joined with other parasite-infected individuals in the group Blood Pack. He and his whole team were eventually obliterated by Superman Prime.
