Matt is a cameraman aboard Joel Cameron's submarine. When Marco and Janine leave the submarine, Matt goes with them. At one point, he carries Marco a long way when he is eviscerated and cannot heal for lack of human blood to drink. Marco returns the favor by later turning him into a vampire when he is about to die, and Marco and their third companion, Janine, are starving for blood. Matt is not happy when he realizes what Marco did.
