After Angela Roth was impregnated by a demon named Trigon, she fled and contemplated suicide. She was rescued by the mystics of an interdimensional realm called Azarath. Angela was renamed Arella, which means "Messenger Angel". She safely gave birth to a daughter, who she named Raven.
