Darla Aquista was the daughter of Gotham mob boss Henry Aquista. She was killed by a stray bullet during a mob shooting but was later resurrected by Johnny Warlock, who killed her father for his life essence to resurrect her. She was apprenticed to Johnny Warlock and given the task to kill Robin (Tim Drake).
