Rima

Abel Guevez de Argensola was a rebel who had barely escaped from Venezuela. He sought safety in the jungles of South America, where he was befriended by a group of natives. One day while walking in the forest, Abel heard bird-like singing, and was told that it was made by an evil witch. He ignored the warnings of the natives and ventured deeper into the forest. There he saw a beautiful but elusive young woman. As he followed her, Abel was bitten by a snake and collapsed from the poison. He later awoke in a hut where the woman, Rima, lived with her grandfather, Nuflo. Abel learned that, years earlier, Nuflo had rescued Rima's mother, who was injured and pregnant. A few years after Rima was born, her mother died. Nuflo took care of Rima, but she didn't seem happy living among people, so they created a home for themselves deep in the forest.
