Following an accident that disfigured him, Drake Shannon became a criminal under the alias The Orb. He is equipped with a giant eyeball helmet, constructed by the group They Who Wield Power and later augmented by other sources. The Orb's "eye" could fire laser beams and hypnotize others who caught his gaze. He travels by motorcycle.
