Andromeda

Andromeda was the daughter of King Cepheus and Cassiopeia. When Cassiopeia inadvertently insulted Poseidon, he sent the sea monster Cetus to ravage the kingdom's coast. In order to appease Poseidon, Andromeda was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to Cetus. Learning of her plight, Perseus slayed the creature when it emerged from the sea to devour her. Soon after this, Perseus and Andromeda were married.
