Tex Thomson was an oil baron who pursued adventure across the globe with his friend Bob Daley, until World War II, when the cruise ship he was supposed to be on was sunk by the Nazis and he was presumed dead. Thereafter, he decided to wear a patriotic uniform, invented a magic carpet that he wore as a cape, and carried a whip to fight the war for his country as Mr. America. He was later recruited by the U.S. President to infiltrate the German Army's high command. With that, Tex changed his code name to the Americommando.
