Hugo Danner was born in the late 19th century with superhuman abilities, a result of prenatal chemical experimentation. At age 10, he was able to leap 40 feet into the air and run faster than a train. As an adult, he stopped a charging bull with a single punch, bent a railroad rail in his hands, lifted a car over his head, ripped open a bank vault, and caught a large block of stone in his arms. He once traversed 37 miles in just thirty minutes, all while carrying 2,000 pounds of food, water, and ammunition. His bodily tissues had a greater density than those of an ordinary human. Bullets and bayonets would glance off his tough skin. The only thing he found capable of penetrating his skin were large artillery shells. His body could heal damaged tissue at an accelerated rate. Hugo Danner's only vulnerability was lightning, which ultimately killed him.
