Betsy Ambielli

Member of the first class of the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art, 1976-1978. After graduation, she worked for a local composing firm, pasting up 7 community newspapers, where on occasion she created editorial cartoons from 1980-1984. Worked freelance in 1983-1986 writing and drawing a comic strip for the headquarters of Weight Watchers of North Jersey, for the club newspaper *Fit Parade*, as well a freelance job writing and drawing a comic strip for a local religious newspaper, *The Advocate*. Worked 1983-1986 in a graphic studio doing pasteup-mechanical production work setting up 4-color supermarket circulars and worked 1993-2000 in small print firm setting up business material via desktop publishing and occasionally providing a cartoon as customers requested one. In 2001, she briefly freelanced as a proofreader in a 'boutique' advertising agency. Worked 2002-2007 at another local newspaper as page paginator and proofreader and provided editorial cartoons on occasion.
