Alan Nelson

He made his debut as an author at the age of 32. Despite a relatively small literary output, he published science fiction, weird, and fantasy short stories between 1944 and 1955 in prominent magazines such as Weird Tales, Cosmopolitan, and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. Many of his stories (including Man in a Hurry, Narapoia, and Silenzia) were frequently reprinted in various anthologies. In television, he is credited with writing the teleplay for the episode "The Horn" (1952) for the renowned anthology series Tales of Tomorrow. In 1951, he married Italian-born Gina Maria Bin in San Francisco. Nelson's work was later collected in the posthumous volume Doctor Departure and Others (Gryphon Books, 1989).
