Thomas Craven

Thomas Craven worked support as an editor for Consolidated Magazines in 1944. He is best known as editor for one of the first books to provide a retrospective on comics and comics history: Cartoon Calvalcade, A Collection of the Best American Humorous Cartoons from the Turn of the Century to the Present, from Simon and Schuster in 1943. Outside of comics, Craven was best known as an author, lecturer, critic, and promoter of American regionalist painters. He authored numerous books and articles on various subjects regarding art.
