Frank S. Pepper

Pepper started his career in 1926 when he joined the staff of The Children's Newspaper. While there he also started freelancing, and went full-time freelancing in 1931. He eventually began selling material to the boys' story papers. In 1952 he created "Captain Condor for Lion, a new publication from Amalgamated Press. He also created "Roy of the Rovers" for Tiger in 1954, but only wrote it for four weeks due to his already heavy workload. Other features he wrote for included Dan Dare, Jet-Ace Logan and Spellbinder. He retired from comics in 1983. After he retired he compiled four collections of modern quotations.
