Raymond Perry

Raymond Perry was an art editor of comic books, painter, designer and book illustrator. After working in advertising in the 1920s, he illustrated features for DC comic books from 1935 through the 1950s. Perry drew 'Ivanhoe' for More Fun Comics. He also worked on production, coloring and lettering till 1954. Jerry Robinson told Robert Greenberger that Perry was the colorist on most of the covers for DC in the early 1940s. At some point he was given the title of color editor. Perry did also hundreds of text page illustrations and hand-drawn titles across the entire DC line until the late 1950s. Painted portraits by him are in 7th Regiment Armory, Fraunces Tavern in New York City, New York, Press Club in Baltimore, Maryland and Poe Cottage in Philadelphia.
