Denny O’Neil was a comic book writer, editor and novelist who worked for DC and Marvel. He wrote major runs on Batman and Green Lantern/Green Arrow, incorporating contemporary social issues into superhero narratives. At Marvel, he contributed to Daredevil, Iron Man and Spider-Man. As an editor at DC, he oversaw the Batman line for nearly 15 years, including the Knightfall saga of the early 1990s, and helped shaped the character’s modern portrayal. He co-created characters including Ra’s al Ghul and wrote prose including novelizations of the films "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight."
