Don Gunn

Don Gunn was an American animator and comic book artist. Born in Canada, Gunn emigrated to the U.S. in the '30s and became a naturalized American citizen in 1941. Beginning as an animator at Disney in the late '30s and early '40s, he transitioned into promotional and merchandising art for Kay Kamen and then into comic books, working for the Grothkopf and Sangor shops, mostly on funny animal features. He went on to do work for ACG, Standard, and Fawcett (notably Hoppy the Marvel Bunny). By the late '40s he was primarily working for Western on their Disney and Warner Bros titles. He also resumed working on Kay Kamen publications. He continued working for Kamen and Western throughout the '50s.
