Ernie Colón

Ernie Colón was a Puerto Rican‑American comic-book artist with a versatile 60‑year career. After moving to the United States at age 10 and training at New York City's School of Industrial Art, he began in the 1950s at Harvey on titles including *Casper* and *Richie Rich*. He later worked in horror (for *Creepy*, *Eerie*, and *Vampirella*) and superheroes and cocreated major titles such as DC's *Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld*, and Marvel’s *Damage Control*. In the 2000s, he shifted to graphic nonfiction, adapting the 9/11 Commission and Warren Commission reports. Colón also edited for DC and has been celebrated for his creative breadth and influence.
