Micah Ian Wright

Micah Ian War Dog Wright is an American writer who has worked in film, television, animation, video games and comic books. He is an enrolled member of the Muscogee Creek Nation. In the comics industry, he is best known for writing Stormwatch: Team Achilles. In TV and film, Wright has contributed to projects for Nickolodeon, Madhouse, and Warner Bros. Animation, and in video games, he has worked on projects from EA, Ubisoft, THQ, Atari, 2K Games, Riot Games, Activision, Warner Bros. Home Video, and SCEA/Nihilistic Software (among others). In a number of titles, he shares credit with frequent collaborator, Jay Lender. Wright courted some controversy in the comics industry regarding the debut of Stormwatch: Team Achilles as his references to terrorism did not sit well with an audience still reeling from the events of 9-11, he made some public comments about his military record which were disputed, and then also for his Marvel & DC stories pitting vigilantes against corporations rather than street criminals (which didn't fit with the companies' plans at the time). Wright spent a number of years working in video games before returning to comics in 2012 with a Kickstarter for "Duster" co-created with Jay Lender; the graphic novel was published in 2015. Wright went on to teach a course in virtual reality filmmaking at the Los Angeles branch of Emerson College and to release his and Lender's directorial debut in 2016, "They're Watching," a found footage horror comedy distributed by Amplify. From 2017-2019 Wright was Chief Content Manager of the Native American broadcast television network First Nations Experience, producing the network's first original content.
