Jesús Blasco

Jesús Blasco was a Spanish author and artist of comic books. Blasco debuted in 1935 in the Spanish magazine Mickey. For the magazine Boliche, he created the series and character named Cuto, one of his best-known characters. In the 1940s he worked for a number of other magazines, including [Chicos](app://series/209725), where he created several adventure and science fiction comics, and [Mis Chicas](app://series/182011), where he started 'Anita Diminuta' (1941) and 'Los Tres Inseparables' (1943). In the 1960s, he started to work internationally with Fleetway, for which he produced The Steel Claw, Slave of the Screamer and many other titles. In 1968, he co-created the cartoon Los Guerrilleros and Paul Foran for the Belgian publication [Spirou](app://series/19939). With writer Pat Mills he created Invasion! for [2000 AD #1 (26 February 1977)](app://issue/163902). The 1970s saw also more Alex Toth-esque Westerns such as Tex. Blasco also co-created the strip Capitán Trueno.
