Heyes was the third artist on Strange As It Seems which was created by John Hix in 1928. After Hix died, Dick Kirby took over from 1944 to 1946, then Heyes drew the daily from June 17, 1946 to July 3, 1948, and the Sunday from April 1946 to July 25, 1948.
