Claude Monet

Monet is a very pivotal modern artist, usually regarded as "The Father of Impressionism". He began as a caricaturist about age 15 in Le Havre in the Normandy region of northern France. His first art show was of these drawings in an art supply shop in 1857. His success led him to meet the painter Eugène Boudin in 1858, who helped Monet become a successful painter.
