Best known as the author of the fantasy novel series, The Wheel of Time. Robert Jordan was an American novelist known for the scope and complexity of his fantasy works. After a brief military career, he began writing in the early 1980s, publishing three historical novels under the pseudonym **Reagan O’Neal** and a western as **Jackson O’Reilly**. Under the name Robert Jordan, he gained prominence as a fantasy writer, first continuing the adventures of *Conan the Cimmerian*, originally created by Robert E. Howard, and later developing his own mythology with the series *The Wheel of Time* (1990–2007). The saga, consisting of fourteen main volumes and a prequel, became one of the most influential works in modern fantasy, noted for its world-building, internal consistency, and richly developed characters. Although Jordan did not write comics, the visual depth of his storytelling and the scope of his imagined universe inspired illustrated adaptations and influenced creators across multiple media, securing his place as a central figure in contemporary fantasy literature.
