Richard E. Decker
St. John business manager
- Born 1907 · Died 1979-06-11
Decker was the business manager of St. John comics for many years (at least 1950-57). He and Archer & Michael St. John began publishing pulp magazines in 1952, and had success with Manhunt, but after the failure of four new titles, Michael and his business manager, Richard Decker, found success with Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine. After an obscenity court case that was costly for the St. Johns, Decker split with them and took over as publisher of the Hitchcock title with his wife, Gladys.
