Bentley Boyd

Bentley Boyd drew for his high school newspaper in Brookings, SD, and drew daily editorial cartoons for three years at the Harvard Crimson. He syndicated those cartoons across New England and earned the first Al Capp Satire Award given at Harvard. He graduated with a degree in History and Literature in 1990, focusing on Colonial America. He moved to Virginia in 1992, where he drew for the Newport News Daily Press, tackling local issues in “Boyd’s Eye View” political cartoons from 1994 to 1999. The Chester cartoons were originally published as learning aids in the Daily Press, but in 2003 the paper granted permission to reprint those stories in book form.
