Synopsis
Shortly before the Allied invasion of Sicily, Rosa's father, the mayor of a small town in northern Italy, relents to a German general's request to take her with him. On the way Rosa, who hates the Nazis, is given a ring from the general as a present. Partisans stop the car and take them prisoner. When the ring is discovered to contain micro-film about the partisans, they assume Rosa is a Nazi supporter. Guido and Rosa fall in love, but he can never be sure about her loyalties. Rosa comes up with a plan that will risk her life to prove to Guido that she doesn't support the Nazis.
