Synopsis
Charles comes upon the scene of an automobile accident and discovers the wallet of a injured man. The wallet contains a lot of money and a list of men who had disappeared or been killed recently for refusing to pay protection money. Charles' own name was next on the list. After later reading that his would-be assassin had died from his injuries in the accident, Charles decides to return the wallet to the man's family. Gangsters attempt to use the assassin's widow to kill Charles, but she wants no part of her ex-husband's life and helps try to arrange a fake death for Charles.
