Synopsis
Underage Marcellinus goes to France with the army as Dr. Fulham's assistant, taking dog Boots along. Separated during an attack, Marcellinus and Boots wind up with the Irish Fusileers, suffering attacks, aiding the wounded, and enjoying the unofficial Christmas truce. Several of their friends are killed and wounded. Boots finds the wounded Marcellinus in New Man's Land and the Fusileers bring him in, spared by a German sniper who recognizes Boots from the Christmas truce.
