Synopsis
As progressive and anti-militarist artists, Taro and Mitsu Yashima suffer imprisonment, abuse, and deprivation, including the death of their child. He finds strengh in the fellowship of prisoners; in his expanding understanding of art, including his own; in the hard-working people of city and country alike; in those who are fighting underground against militarism.
