Synopsis

Both the hunchbacked Quasimodo and his adoptive father Claude Frollo are enamored of the beautiful Esmeralda. When she is falsely accused of attempted murder, Quasimodo takes her to the Cathedral of Notre Dame for sanctuary. The king orders that Esmeralda should be arrested in spite of the right of sanctuary, and she is killed accidentally in the struggle to arrest her.
