Synopsis

John and Shirley love each other, but he has grandiose plans and she is more practical. When a shoe company offers a £10,000 prize for a publicity slogan, John is convinced his idea will win. A rival for John's affections sees her opportunity to use his ambition to drive a wedge between him and Shirley. She arranges to have a fake telegram sent to him, telling him he has won.
