Synopsis

After her husband was involved in an accident, Laura continued to enjoy life, often leaving him at home alone, unable to walk more than a few painful yards. Late one night a soldier escorted her home and Norman saw them embracing from an upstairs window. Enraged, Norman attacked her when she got inside, but she killed him with a heavy poker. She immediately ran away and hid inside a lorry. Dying her hair blonde, she starts a new life as a housekeeper for a farmer. When it becomes obvious that she is pregnant, she accuses the farmer's son of being the father.
