This is the first volume of a planned four volume set which reprints in chronological order the first appearances, critical changes, and new directions for all of the Golden Age superhero features published by Quality Comics.

At least two versions of this volume exist (the original and a corrected edition). In the original edition, one Rusty Ryan page from Feature Comics #32 was duplicated and one was missing. The corrected edition also replaces fiche scans with better quality paper scans for Zero the Ghost Detective, Bruce Blackburn, Rusty Ryan, the Voice, and Poison Ivy (pages 120-140). The cover to Smash Comics #2 is missing in both versions. The two versions can easily be distinguished by the back cover (see final entry below).
