Ashcan was limited to a printing of 5,000 copies and given out free to retailers as an incentive to try offerings from Jitterbug Press, a new indie publisher.
Ashcan has the same cover art as Coven of Angels (1995) #1, but with different text superimposed on top, promoting a cover art poster giveaway for every 10 copies of Jitterbug Press comics ordered.
