Sad Sack Comics issue number 288 represented a return to publishing after a 10-year hiatus due to a number of factors (e.g. expensive lawsuits involving Harvey Publications, a downturn in comic book profitability, inflationary pressures on the comic book publishing industry, a gradual shift away from newsstand sales toward direct sales of comic books) when Harvey World ceased publication of Sad Sack Comics with issue number 287 cover dated October 1982.
