Synopsis

Mary graduates from college and takes a teaching job in the rural town of Pinesville. She tutors farmer Jim, which provokes a “whispering campaign” by jealous Peggy. Jim proposes to Mary but she turns him down. Peggy snares him on the rebound. Mary resigns her position, but Jim makes her realize she does love him. They get married and Jim eventually becomes a doctor.
