Synopsis

Ruth leaves her boring hometown and boyfriend Homer for the big city, where Charley promises her “romance...excitement...success...” He gets Ruth an “audition” with a “movie producer,” but it’s a blackmail set-up. Charley says he’ll send Ruth’s parents photos of her assignation unless she plays along. Ruth spends time “in strange hotel rooms in the mad, sensuous embraces of strange men!” One day, Homer shows up as a “client”; he punches Charley and rescues Ruth. They go home, get married and have a child.
