Synopsis

Publisher Jon is impressed by the political writing of newspaper columnist Eileen; they date and fall in love. Eileen covers the gubernatorial campaign of Dan, a honest candidate but one who’s supported by crooked Halley. Dan falls for Eileen. She’s ordered by Jon to support Dan's candidacy and ignore Halley's participation in the campaign. Eileen and Dan learn Jon plans to manipulate Dan after he’s elected: Dan exposes the plot and tries to withdraw but is elected anyway. As governor, Dan vows to crush corruption and marry Eileen.
