Synopsis
Lila loved bandleader Ted, but when her wealthy father dies and it’s discovered that he left Lila nothing but debts, Ted breaks up with her. Lila marries Bill, then writes to Ted and says she’ll have her revenge on him someday. Later, Ted blackmails Lila with the letter, which could be misunderstood by Bill. Lila is present when Ted is confronted by another young woman’s irate father: Ted is killed in the struggle. To clear him of a murder charge, Lila testifies that the other man acted in self-defense, but fears Bill will be angry. He isn’t.
